Collabrador

What is Collabrador

Collabrador is a multimedia performance space running for a week in Newcastle as part of the ThisIsNotArt festival. The main site has posted a breif desciption that sums it up nicely

Formerly Quantacrib, was initiated in 2003 as a hybrid performance space for improvised-cross media collaborations, and investigations into non-traditional interactions between performers and audiences. This year it will be renewed by Talbet Fulthorpe (ACT) in consultation with Electrofringe, to ensure successful and meaningful collaborations that reflect concepts and techniques developed at the ProjectSpace workshops. We also intend to extend opening times for longer events and spontaneous performances.

The Program:

Thursday

CanberraShowcase: A chance for the ACT participants to justify the long drive north

Friday

PoetrySlam: Teams of poets and musicians develop a piece around a given theme in a limited time.

Saturday

VisualScore: A collaborative event where performers realise avant notation and abstract visual scores.

Sunday

SoundtrackJam: Live accompaniment to the films of yesteryear, using current technology and techniques

BodyCheck: Using body movement to create digital feedback and inform the audience

Constant Collaborations

AudioLog: An audio catalog of the people in attendance

CollabraClip: Collabrative film making, and DIY session on editing

If you attended QuantaCrib in 2004 or 2003 then you have an idea what it's going to be like.
